British TV
Apr. 19th, 2008 08:05 pmJust saw a promo of a new local drama series, which reminds me why I hate Asian television and love British shows.
I'm so fed up with shows that are just about scheming bastards at the workplace/Royal court or love wars. And I'm so sick of shows preaching the fabled unconditional love of parents and the lack of diversity in race, types of family, relationships or even socio-economic status on screen.
There's nothing like Doctor Who, which has sense of adventure at its heart.
There's nothing like Shameless or Skins. Nor are there The Street or Clocking off.
Not to mention QAF, Torchwood or Sugar.
Honestly, I'd be happy if there were even a show that's set in a modern-day public housing estate. I'm not even asking for any other kind of diversity.
