The Tudors Series 2

Has the passing of time made my memory of series 1 rosier than it actually was, or is series 2 really that much stupider than series 1?
I find it kind of hard to sit through this series even with all the pretty men, the gayness, and the gratituous nudity. Speaking of nudity, does it make the prayers more powerful to pray in the nude?
