Watching The Edukators Under the Skyscrapers

Shivering under the "binbag" raincoats the festival organisers gave away, thousands of us watched the anti-capitalist film The Edukators (Die fetten Jahre sind vorbei) tonight at the Tamar Site which was right in the middle of Hong Kong's financial centre. The bright, colourful lights of the skyscrapers felt almost like part of the show.

It was fucking ironic but it felt strangely great.

It's a good film though some of the dialogues seem like lecturing at times. I really like the ending which I am absolutely not telling you here or I'll spoil it.

It'll be better if you at least know who Rudi Dutschke is because it was name-dropped in the film. And you won't feel as deeply if you don't have a little nostalgia for 1968, well Germany's 1968.
